We are Grace Pads, Malawi's leaders in Sustainable Menstrual Hygiene Management.

We are a local charity operating in Lilongwe Malawi, Africa and we produce high quality, low cost reusable sanitary pads and menstrual hygiene kits. With the help of donations, NGO’s and partnerships, we reach vulnerable girls and women in need of Menstrual Hygiene resources. Our mission at Grace Pads is to effectively combine sanitation, education and business to empower young Malawian women to reach their full potential.

Why we exist:

period poverty is holding girls back..

Taboos, financial barriers and lack of education around menstrual hygiene have forced many women into “period poverty” which is defined as inadequate access to menstrual hygiene resources and education. From a burning desire to create real change in the Menstrual Hygiene sector and with urgency to provide a practical solution for women and girls living in period poverty, Grace Pads was born.

We exist to combat the lack of quality feminine hygiene products and resources in Malawi which is prohibiting girls from reaching their full potential. The empowerment of women and girls is essential in achieving Sustainable Development Goals, that’s why we believe we can do better and we must do better for the Women of Malawi.

No girl should be held back because of her period.

That’s why we partner with donors, philanthropists, community leaders and governments to help end period poverty. Period.

WHAT WE DO:

CHANGING THE CYCLE..

We provide more than just sanitary pads with our innovative Store, Wash & Dry product and Educational Hygiene Program (Grow With Grace). We believe that our duty of care goes beyond just providing a simple pack of pads. We take into consideration all aspects of MHM and female empowerment which includes providing employment for Malawian Women, therefore stimulating the local economy. Our Store, Wash & Dry kit comprises of all the components required for holistic MHM. Each kit includes high quality reusable sanitary pads, soap, underwear, carry pouch and a tub for washing & drying.

We know that donor funds have not been used effectively when allocated to small pad making programs that simply aren’t producing scalable and sustainable solutions to MHM. Grace Pads has commercial production potential and can achieve sustainable impact. Donor funds are maximised as aspects of sustainable development are simultaneously addressed. Every kit donated helps set a standard of best practice and excellence in addressing the issue of MHM and female empowerment.

Our mission is to be around for years to come, helping women and girls to manage their periods and for just $20 you can sponsor a girl for 18+ months and help us achieve this mission.
